City Life

The Hague Pathway College sits in The Hague, the Netherlands’ third-largest city, where THUAS welcomes around 30,000 students annually. This creates a vibrant international atmosphere that extends beyond campus into streets lined with world institutions. The city earned its title as the “International City of Peace and Justice” by hosting the renowned International Court of Justice alongside numerous other global organizations, while its coastal position makes it the country’s only beach city where sea breezes meet urban energy.

Natural Beauty

The college occupies a modern building near Hollands Spoor station and the scenic Laakhaven canal, placing students within easy reach of everything the city offers. What makes The Hague distinctive is how it balances urban life with nature—1 km of coastline, 2 beach resorts, and 990 acres of forest create spaces where students can shift from woodland walks to sandy shores, finding their own rhythm between studies and downtime.

Learning Environment

As part of The Hague University of Applied Sciences main building, the college gives students full access to university resources from day one. The broader community spans five locations:

  • Sports campus Zuiderpark
  • Campus Delft
  • Campus Zoetermeer
  • Poseidon building
  • Main campus in The Hague

Contemporary lecture halls, equipped labs, and spacious study areas support focused learning, while sports facilities, the library, and IT services round out the environment students need for both academics and personal growth.

Cultural Sites

Peace Palace stands near campus with its neo-Renaissance architecture and manicured gardens, while Binnenhof—the medieval Gothic parliament complex—carries centuries of Dutch history. Art lovers gravitate toward Mauritshuis museum, home to masterworks by Vermeer and Rembrandt. Scheveningen beach offers its historic pier and entertainment options, and Madurodam park displays miniature versions of the country’s landmarks, giving students diverse ways to spend free time beyond academics.

Transport and Mobility at The Hague Pathway College

The Hague’s transport network connects students seamlessly to both nearby and distant destinations. Hollands Spoor station provides rail links that reach Rotterdam in 20 minutes and Amsterdam in roughly 50, while Amsterdam Schiphol and Rotterdam The Hague airports sit just 45 and 20 minutes away respectively. The extensive network of bicycle paths makes cycling the preferred mode for locals and students alike, supporting an environmentally conscious approach to getting around.
